 I had heard about these large Grouper while diving Cabo Pulmo National Park in the Sea of Cortez. But I never realized just how large they could get until I came over some reef structure on one of my dives and surprised one sitting near the sandy bottom between two ledgers. It was huge! Probably 6 feet. Very cool.
