This is another one of my favorites seen while diving in Cabo Pulmo National Park in the southwestern Sea of Cortez. They tend to inhabit the bottom of the water column around rocky reefs. While they feed on sponges, various types of plankton, and tiny animals in the water, my favorite fun fact about these fish is that they are known to clean scalloped hammerhead sharks.
